Additional Campus Resources

We can helpGraduate Division Academic Counselor: The Graduate Academic Counselor is a resource for graduate students dealing with conflict and will facilitate conflict management and resolution discussion between graduate students and faculty on a case-by-case basis.

 

Ombuds: A safe, confidential, and informal place where the UC Merced community can go for informal assistance with managing conflict, complaints, and concerns. The OMBUDs will listen, identify options, make inquiries and referrals as appropriate.

 


The following campus resources are additional sources of support for students dealing with conflict:

 

Calvin E Bright Student Success Center: Provides learning support, transition programs, and individualized interventions to empower students to be successful in their academic and personal development.

 

Dean of Students: Promotes student development and advocates for student success through intentional programs and collaborative partnerships that enhance campus climate and facilitates the successful navigation of campus life.

 

Center for Career & Professional Advancements: Empowers students and alumni to reach their full potential by offering services in career development, experiential education, employment and graduate school.

 

Counseling & Psychological Services: CAPS serves to support the mental health and well-being of students. CAPS staff strive to provide a safe, confidential atmosphere in order to help students in their academic, personal, and social development.

 
Campus Advocacy, Resources, & Education (CARE): Resource to develop and support understandings of gender-based violence through prevention education and advocacy using an intersectional framework. CARE promotes empathy, diversity, equity, and inclusion through its programs to staff, faculty, and students.
 

Residence Education (on campus residents): Strives to provide a clean, safe, student-centered residential communities to support academic accomplishment, diversity, and respect for human dignity.

 

Social Justice Initiatives and Identity Programs: Aims to enhance the retention of our historically underserved scholars and to foster an inclusive campus environment for all by providing opportunities for holistic development and intersectional community building.

 

Student Accessibility Services: Promote equal educational access and full participation by and for students with disabilities in the rich academic and campus life environment at UC Merced.
 

Student Health Services: Committed to providing high quality primary health care, along with health education and wellness promotion through caring, accessible and affordable services.

 

The UC Merced Law Clinic | Associated Students of UC Merced: Dedicated to helping students find comprehensive legal assistance before and until their designated trial date. Services include aiding in finding a lawyer to work on your case for free or at a reduced rate, as well as for understanding your rights.

 

UC Merced Police Department: Dedicated to the safety and security of the campus and surrounding communities, serving the UC Merced community and associated university property 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

 

Veteran Services: Aid in obtaining the educational benefits to which veterans, reservists, and their dependents are entitled as well as providing resources and programs to assist veterans in navigating their transition to civilian and student life.
